  • How do I submit my claim to my insurance company?
    We recommend using our application Reimbursify to help with determining your OON benefits and with submitting your claims. Of course you can call your insurance company and inform them that you are seeing an out-of-network provider and would like to file a behavioral health claim and submit the superbill yourself.   • Do you offer evening or weekend appointments?
    We understand that schedules can be hectic, whether due to work, children's school schedules, or other commitments. To accommodate our clients, Generation Well offers evening appointments. While we are not offering weekend appointments at this time, please check back regularly, as this may change as our patient volume continues to increase.
  • What geographic areas do you serve?
    We service the state of Virginia. Controlled substance require an in person evaluation every 12 months.
  • Can I do my first visit as telepsychiatry?
    At Generation Well, we take pride in creating intimate, safe, and trusting relationships with our patients. Building rapport and fostering these connections are essential for successful treatment. We prefer the first visit to be in person, as this helps establish a strong foundation. However, we understand that in-person visits may not always be possible. Subject to Virginia state law and approval for certain prescriptions, we are more than happy to accommodate virtual visits.
  • What are your qualifications and experience?
    At Generation Well, we are dedicated to providing nurturing and compassionate care for individuals across the lifespan. Our experienced team is committed to bridging the gap in resource desert areas and ensuring that every patient receives the highest quality of mental health care. Our Physician With over 20 years of experience, our pediatrician brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our clinic. She has spent the last 7 years working with high-risk mental health young adults and graduate/law students in college health, where she has honed her skills in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of mental illnesses. She has extensive experience as a pediatrician in both military and community settings, diagnosing and treating childhood developmental disorders. as well as managing depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, sleep disorders, autism and various behavioral concerns in children, teens, young adults and adults.
  • What are your prices?
    Service Fees at Generation Well At Generation Well, we are committed to providing transparent and fair pricing for our services. Below is a list of our fees for various psychiatric and mental health services: Psychiatric Intake - Initial Visit: $295 for a 60-minute appointment, this will include telehealth new patient visits Medication Management - Follow-Up: $150 for a 30-minute appointment Telepsychiatry: $150 for a 30-minute appointment, follow up established patients ADHD Evaluation and Treatment Plan: $495 for a 60 minute appointment, this includes a 30 minute follow up appointment to review results and explore treatment options.
  • What age groups do you see?
    We see patients of all ages. However, please note that we are waitlisting for adult services (age 24+) while we transition to an additional psychiatric provider in the coming weeks.
  • Do you take insurance?
    Generation Well is out of network with all insurance. However, we can provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. We recommend using our application Reimbursify to help with determining your OON benefits and with submitting your claims. Of course, you can always call your insurance company using the number on the back of your insurance card to determine your out-of-network benefits.   • What services do you offer for pediatric and adolescent patients?
    Both our providers offer behavioral assessments, developmental profile workups, and parental education. If necessary and recommended, medication can also be provided.
  • Do you offer therapy?
    At this time, we do not offer therapy services directly within our practice. However, we will be expanding our services to include therapy in 2025. We have established strong relationships with several experienced therapists in the community and can provide referrals tailored to your needs. We are happy to recommend the type of therapy that may be most beneficial for you, including but not limited to modalities such as CBT, ERP, EMDR, brainspotting, and DBT. Our commitment is to work closely with these skilled professionals to ensure you receive the highest quality care.
  • What if I don't want to start on medication?
    Our providers will engage in an open and thorough discussion with you about the treatment options available. Medication is not necessary in all cases, and we never want to push it if it's not desired. This discussion with your provider is crucial, as mental health treatment extends beyond medication, requiring a holistic and integrative approach that includes therapy.
  • How do I get medication refills?
    We require a follow-up appointment for any medication refills, as detailed in your treatment plan. We believe appropriate follow-up is key to treatment success. As your medication regimen stabilizes, we will require fewer check-ins, and your follow-ups will become more spaced out. Initially, close monitoring of new medications is important to us, as we pride ourselves on providing a more intimate and individualized experience, always keeping patient safety in mind.
  • Do you prescribe controlled substances?
    Yes, when deemed appropriate for treatment. Generation Well adheres to strict Virginia law regarding refills of controlled substances. A prescription for a Schedule III or IV drug: Cannot be filled or refilled more than six months after the issue date. Cannot be refilled more than five times, requiring a follow up visit. After six months or five refills, whichever comes first, a new prescription is required. The prescriber can provide the new prescription at a scheduled follow up visit only. A prescription for a Schedule II controlled substance (includes stimulants such as Adderall and Ritalin): Cannot be refilled without an appointment. Expires after six months. Generation Well requires an in-person visit every six months once stable on medication for new schedule II prescription refills.
  • What happens if I miss my appointment?
    We understand that unexpected situations arise. If you cannot make your appointment, please call us at least 24 hours in advance. If you miss your scheduled appointment without following our cancellation policy, it will be considered a "no show," and you will be charged the cost of the visit.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
    We require a 24-hour cancellation notice to avoid a late cancellation fee of $50
