What is IVA-2 Testing

ADHD Diagnostic Process at Generation Well

At Generation Well, we use a tool called the IVA-2 CPT (Integrated Visual and Auditory Continuous Performance Test) to help us understand and diagnose ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder). This test helps us look at how well someone can focus and control impulses by using both visual (sight) and auditory (sound) exercises.

In addition to diagnosing ADHD, our evaluation process also looks for other conditions that often co-exist with ADHD or mimic its symptoms. Conditions like anxiety, depression, and learning disabilities can sometimes make ADHD harder to identify, so it’s important that we thoroughly assess for any of these possibilities during your visit. This way, we can ensure an accurate diagnosis and create a treatment plan that addresses all your needs.

The IVA-2 test is an important part of this process. It gives us a more complete picture of how the brain is working, instead of just relying on what someone says or what we observe. The IVA-2 also has a special feature that helps us see if someone might not be giving their best effort or exaggerating symptoms, which helps make the diagnosis more accurate.

The IVA-2 test doesn’t replace a full psychological evaluation, and it might not be the best option for everyone. If you’re not sure, we can help figure out if it’s right for you.

At Generation Well, if you don’t have paperwork or test results from a previous provider, our fee for the ADHD evaluation, including the IVA-2 test, is $495. This evaluation also includes a thorough assessment to rule out other conditions that could be impacting your symptoms.

Please note that testing and evaluation often require more than one visit. This price includes a 30 minute follow up appointment to discuss testing results and to explore treatment options. Subsequent visits are scheduled as medication management appointments and charged accordingly.

We do not bill insurance for the IVA-2 test, so payment is required at the time of scheduling. However, we strive to ensure our fees are more affordable than the costs of most psychological testing. If we determine that you need to be referred for additional testing beyond what we provide, we will inform you.
